About the Author

Dr. Albert C. Smith is a noted marine biologist, as well as a medical doctor in Panama City, Florida. He has spent many years in research and education in both marine and medical science. He holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Marine Emphasis) from the University of California, Irvine, and received the M.D. from the University of Hawaii. He also has certification in Clinical Pathology from the American Board of Pathology. In these books, he shows how the fields of marine and medical science can come together to significantly expand our knowledge of human disease, and the search for new cures and preventives.

His contributions to pathology and marine biology have been recognized by awards from the American Foundation for Oceanography and an Honorary Membership in the International Society for Aquatic Medicine. Dr. Smith has also been acknowledged in Who's Who in the World, 2002 & 2003; and will be included in the 2004 edition.
